Argentina’s towns launch major road, bike lane and LED lighting upgrades

Municipal authorities in several Argentine cities announced extensive infrastructure projects. In Rada Tilly, the local government disclosed a historic 77‑block paving programme, new bike lanes, expanded public plazas and the upgrade of a wastewater treatment plant, alongside the replacement of 500 LED streetlights. The municipality of Pilar released a step‑by‑step guide for residents to report potholes and broken lighting, urging community participation to expedite repairs.

Across the country, San Juan de Sabinas is completing the installation of LED luminaires in the Zaragoza neighbourhood and nearby settlements to improve safety and visibility. Venado Tuerto completed a full LED retrofit in the Mateo Fernández and Fo Na Vi housing complexes, enhancing illumination and reducing energy consumption. In Neuquén, work on the Gran Avenida entered its final phase with the first streetlights installed, promising faster traffic flow once the corridor opens.

Neighbouring Chile saw Temuco finish the smart‑traffic‑light integration on Avenida Pablo Neruda, linking ten intersections to a central system that is expected to cut travel times by up to 20 %. In Spain, Quintanar de la Sierra implemented specially oriented LED fixtures to preserve historic facades while cutting glare, and La Laguna began a pilot project projecting historical images onto San Agustín street using gobos.

These coordinated efforts aim to modernise urban mobility, boost public safety and reduce energy use across the region.
