Argentine political figures discuss 2025 election prospects
Political figures in Argentina are outlining potential strategies and candidacies for the 2025 elections, particularly regarding the governorship of the Buenos Aires province.
Journalist and political leader Santiago Cúneo has expressed his intention to run for Governor of Buenos Aires. His platform includes a proposal to modify the provincial constitution to transition from a republican model toward a confederal system. Cúneo also voiced criticisms regarding the administration of President Javier Milei.
Meanwhile, Chivilcoy Mayor Guillermo Britos suggested that Vice President Victoria Villarruel should consider running for the governorship of Buenos Aires, noting that the province will compete with separate ballots from the national level. Britos also proposed Joaquín de la Torre as a potential candidate for his political movement and predicted that former Economy Minister Sergio Massa will seek the presidency again.
