Argentine political organization and election planning

Overview

Political activity in Argentina is intensifying as various leaders and movements organize ahead of upcoming elections.

In the southern regions, the Provincia Grande party in Tierra del Fuego has initiated a series of participatory technical tables in Ushuaia. Led by president Juan Pablo De Luca, these meetings aim to involve specialists and citizens in developing strategic plans for health, education, employment, and land issues. In Chubut, Governor Ignacio Torres is working to sustain the Despierta Chubut movement beyond 2027, signaling a strategy of continuity for effective managers and suggesting collaboration with local leaders like Gustavo Sastre.

In the Buenos Aires province, political figures are debating potential candidacies for the 2025 elections. Santiago Cúneo has expressed interest in running for Governor, proposing a constitutional shift toward a “confederal system.” Additionally, Chivilcoy Mayor Guillermo Britos has suggested Vice President Victoria Villarruel as a potential candidate for the governorship and noted that former Economy Minister Sergio Massa may seek the presidency again.
