Argentine political leaders discuss electoral processes and regional management
In recent interviews, Argentine political figures addressed various aspects of governance and the current political climate.
Ricardo Quintela, Governor of La Rioja, discussed his personal history, his upbringing in a humble family, and his views on mining and the future of Peronism. During a conversation regarding the country's direction, he expressed his stance on the RIGI (Incentive Regime for Large Investments) and did not confirm whether he will run for office in 2027.
Meanwhile, Rogelio Frigerio, Governor of Entre Ríos, addressed the role of PASO (open, simultaneous, and mandatory primary elections). While acknowledging that primaries have historically helped resolve internal power disputes within his space, Frigerio highlighted a growing disconnect between politics and society. He noted that voter turnout is decreasing and suggested that demanding frequent voting may be excessive given the current lack of public trust in political institutions.
