Argentine provinces launch development projects via international financing

Argentine provinces are launching significant development and modernization initiatives through international financing.

In Río Negro, the provincial government is implementing a Territorial Development Program funded by CAF (Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean). The program focuses on four strategic areas to modernize financial management, public debt oversight, the Real Estate Registry, and the cadastral system. One active project includes the implementation of the Debt Management and Analysis System (SIGADE) version 7, developed with UNCTAD, to centralize strategic information on provincial public debt.

In Jujuy, Governor Carlos Sadir presented the Resilient Infrastructure Program for Economic Development. Supported by a projected $130 million investment from the World Bank, the initiative aims to strengthen strategic sectors, improve productive infrastructure, and create jobs. Key components include improvements to Provincial Route 1, strengthening mining-related infrastructure, and establishing a logistics and technology center at the Perico Industrial Park.
