Argentina provinces launch breastfeeding support initiatives
Various Argentine provinces are implementing initiatives to promote and support breastfeeding during Breastfeeding Month.
In Jujuy, the provincial government launched the Provincial Human Milk Network to coordinate efforts between health professionals, municipalities, and private institutions. Health Minister José Manzur noted that the province is also working on a project to create a Breast Milk Bank at the Hospital Snopek.
In Chubut, the Secretary of Health is conducting a provincial training and update workshop for health personnel in Puerto Madryn and Trelew to strengthen the promotion and protection of breastfeeding.
Entre Ríos has certified nine new ‘breastfeeding-friendly spaces’ across health centers, educational units, and municipalities, bringing the provincial total to 32.
In La Pampa, health authorities held academic sessions to unify clinical standards, emphasizing that breastfeeding is a fundamental right that provides essential immunological protection for infants.
