Argentine Senate honors Malvinas veterans and presents new book

The Argentine Senate hosted a ceremony to present the book “¡Sí, juro!”, authored by retired Chief Petty Officer and Malvinas War veteran Jorge Alberto Pacheco. The event, held at the Palacio Legislativo, was led by Vice President Victoria Villarruel and organized by the Senate's Malvinas Gesta Directorate.

During the ceremony, several individuals and organizations received the “Gesta de Malvinas” honorary mentions for their contributions to the defense and dissemination of the Malvinas cause. Officials, including Nicolás Kasanzew and retired Major José Gómez Centurión, praised the importance of veteran testimonies in preserving historical memory.

In a separate recognition, veteran Ramón Garcés was awarded the COMUNAS Prize for his commitment to national sovereignty and memory. Garcés, who served as an anti-aircraft battery leader during the conflict, emphasized the necessity of ensuring the Malvinas cause reaches all parts of the country.
