Argentine senators visit Vaca Muerta to inspect energy production

A delegation of Argentine senators conducted an institutional visit to the Vaca Muerta formation to observe hydrocarbon activity, production levels, and expansion projects. The tour began at the Loma Campana field, a key site for YPF, where legislators inspected drilling equipment and learned about the technology used in unconventional resource development.

During the visit, the group reviewed YPF’s ‘Plan 4x4’ aimed at increasing productivity, as well as major infrastructure projects such as Vaca Muerta Oil Sur (VMOS) and Argentina LNG. The senators also visited the Instituto Vaca Muerta to discuss specialized training programs designed to meet the industry’s growing demand for skilled labor.

The delegation included senators from various provinces, including Neuquén, Salta, Entre Ríos, San Juan, Chaco, Río Negro, San Luis, and Córdoba. The visit focused on addressing challenges related to production growth, competitiveness, and the expansion of infrastructure to support the region's economic development.
