Argentine shopping centers announce major expansion projects
Major shopping centers in Argentina are undertaking significant expansion projects to meet growing demand from international and national brands.
In Córdoba, Nuevocentro Shopping has announced a US$12 million investment to expand its infrastructure by approximately 26,000 square meters. The project includes three new underground parking levels with a 500-vehicle capacity. This expansion follows the arrival of brands such as Decathlon, Calvin Klein, and The North Face, with Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works expected to open in November. The mall aims to attract further large retailers like Zara and H&M once the expansion is completed.
In Martínez, Unicenter Shopping is moving forward with a US$60 million renovation and expansion project designed by BMA architecture. The plan includes 20,054 square meters of new construction, 85 new commercial spaces, and a new health and wellness pole featuring a 1,300-square-meter outpatient medical center by Swiss Medical. While the project is expected to be completed by October 2027, local residents have expressed concerns regarding increased traffic congestion and the urban impact of the metropolitan-scale commercial hub.
