Argentine commercial and retail sector expansion

Argentina is seeing significant commercial and infrastructure developments across the banking, retail, and shopping sectors.

In the banking sector, Nuevo Banco del Chaco is modernizing its General San Martín branch to adapt to digital banking demands. Simultaneously, GDN Argentina has introduced ‘Mâs Go’, a new proximity store format. This retail expansion has already launched three locations in Buenos Aires neighborhoods and is expected to create over 200 jobs as the model expands through 2026.

Large-scale shopping center expansions are also underway. In Córdoba, Nuevocentro Shopping is investing US$12 million to add 26,000 square meters of infrastructure and underground parking to accommodate international brands. In Martínez, Unicenter Shopping has initiated a US$60 million project to add 20,054 square meters of construction, including 85 new commercial spaces and a medical center. While these projects aim to meet rising demand, some local residents have raised concerns regarding urban impact and traffic congestion.
