Argentine universities launch new academic and community training programs
The Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Health at the Universidad Nacional de Santiago del Estero (UNSE) has opened registration for an elective seminar titled “Social and Solidarity Economy.” Led by Dr. Osvaldo Alejandro Peiretti, the 40-hour hybrid course is designed for postgraduate students, teachers, and graduates in Economic Sciences. The seminar aims to explore “new economies” emerging in Latin America and globally as responses to contemporary social, economic, and environmental challenges, moving beyond orthodox economic frameworks.
Separately, the Faculty of Economic, Juridical, and Social Sciences at the Universidad Nacional de San Luis (UNSL) is launching new free training programs for seniors through the University for Integrated Older Adults Program (UPAMI). In collaboration with the National Institute of Social Services for Retirees and Pensioners (PAMI), the initiative offers six courses running from September to November. These workshops, held in Villa Mercedes, include topics such as horticulture for self-consumption, aimed at promoting educational inclusion and lifelong learning for PAMI affiliates.
