Argentinian city councils honor local heritage and health leaders

The Neuquén City Council recognized archaeologist Claudia Eugenia Della Negra as a distinguished neighbor for her three‑decade career protecting the province’s archaeological, anthropological, historical and paleontological heritage. Highlights included her leadership in uncovering the remains of the first documented woman in Neuquén, her role in drafting provincial heritage laws, and collaborations with universities in the United States and Europe.

The Mar del Plata City Council awarded the GAMA – Centro de la Memoria – and its founder María Cristina Álvarez for 35 years of continuous work supporting people with Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive disorders. The ceremony praised the organization’s care, awareness‑raising, and support for families, reaffirming its commitment to continue serving the community.
