Concordia municipality to pave 34 streets with a 2.6 billion‑peso investment

The municipal government of Concordia announced a new phase of its Bicentennial Infrastructure and Development Plan, allocating over 2.6 billion Argentine pesos to pave 34 city blocks in the northeast sector. The project will first replace water‑supply and sewer pipes, upgrade all household connections, and then lay new asphalt while rebuilding deteriorated curbs and installing speed‑bumps. The works aim to improve road safety, traffic flow and storm‑water drainage.

The tender was opened in the presence of Public Works Secretary Fernando Esquibel, who said the second stage completes the 103‑block program. Three construction firms – Vecchio S.R.L., Piuterra S.A. and José Eleuterio Pitón S.A. – submitted bids for the contract. The municipality expects the improvements to benefit thousands of residents by providing better basic services and a more reliable road network.
