Argentinian municipalities launch digital procurement platform and virtual court service

In the municipality of Colón, Buenos Aires Province, the La Libertad Avanza bloc presented a proposal for an Open Digital System of Purchases and Bids that would make all procurement procedures public, digital and traceable. Councilwoman Leticia Demaria said the system would let any resident view tender information, awards and payments in real time from a mobile phone. She noted that current access to the RAFAM platform is limited to consolidated totals, preventing effective legislative oversight. The mayor, Waldemar Giordano, has signed an agreement with the provincial Digital Government Secretariat to implement the Electronic Document Management system (GDEBA), a step the council calls essential for greater transparency.

Meanwhile, the municipal council of Santa Fe approved a project to study the feasibility of a Virtual Orientative Assistance System for the Municipal Minor Offences Court. Councilwoman Jorgelina Mudallel explained the initiative would let citizens consult their infractions, receive clear procedural information and even settle fines through a chat‑based messaging tool, aiming to streamline demand and improve accessibility.
