Arij Elustondo signs three‑year deal with Greek club PAOK

Spain‑born central defender Arij Elustondo is set to join Greek Super League side PAOK on a three‑year contract after his deal with Real Sociedad expires on 30 June. The 31‑year‑old will fly from Frankfurt to Thessaloniki on Saturday afternoon to complete the formalities.

The move was driven by PAOK coach Alesio Lisi, who offered the defender a lucrative package and the prospect of regular playing time, prompting Elustondo to reject interest from other La Liga clubs. His arrival adds considerable La Liga and European experience to PAOK’s back line.

Both Greek and Cypriot reports confirm the transfer, noting that Elustondo’s contract with the Basque club ends this month and that he prefers a new challenge rather than joining a rival Spanish team.
