Armed gunmen open fire on vehicle in Escuinapa, Sinaloa, injuring mother, baby and grandmother

In the municipality of Escuinapa, Sinaloa, armed assailants opened fire on a private vehicle carrying a 36‑year‑old woman, identified as Yuridia, her one‑year‑old son and the child's grandmother. The attack left Yuridia with multiple gunshot wounds; she was initially treated at a local hospital before being transferred to a specialized facility in Mazatlán. The infant and the grandmother sustained minor injuries and were reported out of danger.

Authorities from the Fiscalía General del Estado arrived at the hospital, conducted forensic examinations of the vehicle, which showed numerous bullet impacts on its body and windows, and began an investigation. No motive or suspect information has been released, and officials have not issued a public statement about the incident.
