Armed robbery in Chiclayo home steals S/500,000; similar theft of S/10,000 from Tacna cambist

In the Peruvian city of Chiclayo, six armed men entered a third‑floor residence in the Fecheche La Victoria sector of Monsefú at around 1 a.m., tied up the owner, his wife and two children, and stole approximately S/500,000 in cash, a laptop and two iPhones. The perpetrators fled on a motorbike, leaving behind a rope and other evidence, and the victims sought help from police and local security forces two hours later.

A separate incident occurred in Tacna, where a thin‑built man posing as a customer robbed a 62‑year‑old currency exchanger of S/10,000. The thief escaped through several streets despite nearby police motorcyclists, and the police investigation was hampered by non‑functional surveillance cameras. The case was transferred to a specialized robbery unit for further inquiry.
