Armenian authorities are conducting several high-profile criminal investigations. Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Republican Party of Armenia, has had his detention extended for two months following raids on his residence and over 70 affiliated companies. The investigation involves allegations of large-scale fraud and money laundering related to illicit trade links between Iran and Armenia, involving the misappropriation of approximately $21.7 million worth of goods and vehicles.

In a separate legal matter, public criminal prosecution has been initiated against former police commander Grigory Grigoryan. The charges stem from a 2008 incident in Yerevan where the improper use of tear gas canisters during a protest resulted in three deaths and several serious injuries.

Additionally, law enforcement has arrested two suspects in connection with a series of residential burglaries in the Ararat and Aragatsotn regions, targeting homes while residents were attending wedding celebrations. Another investigation is underway in the Lori region regarding an attempted kidnapping and murder involving armed suspects.
