Armenian election official M.A. faces criminal probe for directing voters to Strong Armenia

The pre‑trial investigation into M.A., identified as a trusted person of the Strong Armenia electoral bloc, has been concluded. Prosecutors allege that on June 7, while positioned at precinct 25/20, M.A. urged voters to cast their ballots for Strong Armenia, thereby interfering with the free and independent exercise of voting rights. A public criminal prosecution has been initiated under Article 210(1) of the Criminal Code, which criminalises obstruction of voters' rights. The case has been forwarded to a supervising prosecutor, and the accused remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The investigation uncovered documentary evidence linking M.A. to the alleged voter‑direction activities, prompting the formal charge and the commencement of legal proceedings.
