Armenian opposition leaders denounce election results as illegitimate

Members of the Civil Contract parliamentary group in Armenia asserted that the recent election outcomes were predictable and not fabricated. They emphasized that the process was observed by numerous international monitors and rejected claims of fraud, with Mikayel Nahapetian stating, "The election results are not fabricated, this is clear."

Opposition candidate Suren Surenyants warned that if Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan does not halt what he described as a "besprided" repression, streets in Yerevan could erupt with thousands of protesters. He cited the Central Election Commission's decision to invalidate voting results in Yerevan precinct 10/51 and Syunik precinct 35/65, alleging the move undermines the legitimacy of the election.

Both statements highlight escalating political tension over the legitimacy of Armenia's latest parliamentary elections.
