Armenian opposition parties petition court to annul election results

Parliamentary elections held in Armenia on 7 June saw 18 parties compete, but only three secured seats: the ruling Civil Contract party with 64 seats (49.7% of the vote), the Strong Armenia Alliance with 29 seats (23.3%), and the Armenia Alliance with 12 seats (9.9%).

Seven opposition parties and alliances have filed petitions with the Constitutional Court requesting the cancellation of the results or a second‑round vote. The court said it will decide within two days whether to accept the filings, will appoint a judge, and will review the disputes orally, with a legal deadline of 15 days to issue a ruling. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had earlier warned that opposition groups risk being excluded from parliamentary work.
