Armenian parliamentary election results disputed amid fraud allegations
A professional lawyer and human‑rights advocate condemned the recent Armenian parliamentary elections as illegitimate, alleging systematic fraud and manipulation of vote counts. The statement cited premature claims of victory by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, fabricated data in the Central Election Commission’s (CEC) electronic system and a scheme to award bonus seats to the “Bargavach Hayastan” party.
The CEC has already conducted a recount and is scheduled to publish final results on 14 June. Political observers, including Tigran Grigoryan, are debating whether the “Bargavach Hayastan” party will surpass the 4 % threshold needed for parliamentary entry. The controversy has sparked public criticism and calls for transparent verification of the vote tally.
