Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan launches water reservoir and preschool projects in Ararat region

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited the Vedi community in Armenia's Ararat province, inspecting a new water reservoir financed with €90 million from the government and the French Development Agency. The reservoir holds 29 million m³ and will irrigate about 3,220 ha, generate roughly 19 MWh of electricity per year and cut water‑losses by 20‑25 %.

During the same trip the prime minister toured Goravan, Yeghegnavan and other villages where state‑funded preschool complexes are being built. In Goravan a 291 million‑dram subsidy scheme will create a 1,105 m² facility for 90 children on a 2,500 m² site, with 80 % of costs covered by the state budget. Similar projects in Yeghegnavan involve a 310 million‑dram investment for a comparable preschool. Pashinyan also raised school‑building repairs and presented an award to war heroes.

These initiatives aim to improve rural water supply, agricultural productivity, early‑child education and local infrastructure.
