Armenia's chief prosecutor Anna Vardapetyan to submit charges against opposition MPs to new parliament

Anna Vardapetyan, chief prosecutor of Armenia, is preparing final criminal case packages concerning two opposition members of parliament – Iskhan Saghaletian of the Heritage Party and Narek Karapetyan of the Strong Armenia bloc. The dossiers are slated to be presented to the newly elected National Assembly once it is fully constituted.

The reports say the documents are in the final preparation stage, though the legal basis and specific charges have not been disclosed. The prosecutor's office responded to inquiries with a request for written questions. The move follows Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's earlier remarks labeling some opposition parties as “triple‑head war parties,” which have been accompanied by legal actions and imprisonments.
