Armenia's ruling Civil Contract party secures parliamentary majority

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s Civil Contract party won a clear majority in Armenia’s parliamentary elections, securing 61 of the 105 seats with 49.81% of the vote. Turnout was 58.97%, with 1.476 million voters casting ballots out of 2.485 million registered. Opposition parties split the remaining votes: Strong Armenia received 23.29%, the Armenian Alliance 9.94%, and Prosperous Armenia 4%. While the party can form a government alone, Pashinyan will need additional support to amend the constitution.
