Arnavutköy accelerates urban renewal and housing transformation

Urban renewal efforts in Arnavutköy are accelerating as part of an initiative to replace aging building stocks with safer, earthquake-resistant living spaces. Managed by the municipal subsidiary ARKENT AŞ, the project has initiated the transformation process for 2,200 housing units over the last two years.

Following agreements with property owners, the process involves evacuation, preparation, and controlled demolition of existing structures. Once demolitions are complete, new housing projects designed to meet modern building standards and include integrated green spaces and common areas will be implemented. Recent demolition activities have also commenced in the İmrahor neighborhood as part of a new phase of the transformation process.
