Arne Slot's negotiations with the Dutch FA stall over contract length

Journalist Valentijn Driessen reports that talks between Arne Slot and the Dutch football federation (KNVB) have stalled because of a disagreement on contract duration. The KNVB prefers a four‑year commitment, while Slot is said to want a two‑year deal. Driessen suggests a simple solution: begin with a two‑year contract and reassess later, noting that if an agreement cannot be reached the federation could turn to former international Michael Reiziger.

The discussions also touch on other potential candidates. The Belgian federation has shown interest in Slot, and the KNVB is reportedly also considering Mark van Bommel, who has reportedly received a contract offer. Slot recently concluded two seasons as Liverpool head coach after a successful spell at Feyenoord.
