Aroepala road reopened to connect Makassar and Gowa

South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman has officially reopened the 1.8-kilometer Aroepala road, restoring full traffic access between Makassar and Gowa Regency. The reopening follows the completion of concrete paving work, which was conducted to ensure the road can withstand high daily traffic volumes from both two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles.

The project is part of the Multi Years Project (MYP) Package 1, an infrastructure initiative valued between Rp430 billion and Rp487 billion that includes the improvement and rehabilitation of 13 strategic road sections across South Sulawesi.

While the main thoroughfare is now open to the public, authorities noted that secondary improvements, including the development of road medians, pedestrian sidewalks, and drainage systems, will continue to be implemented in stages.
