Arrels Chair launched to promote climate resilience through innovation

The University of Valencia (UV), the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), and the Innpulso Network have launched the Arrels Chair, an initiative focused on promoting climate resilience through science and innovation. Supported by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, the project has a total funding of 600,000 euros over four years.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between research and local action by collaborating with municipalities, businesses, technological centers, and citizens. It seeks to design and apply practical solutions to address climate risks, including floods, heatwaves, coastal threats, and the vulnerability of critical infrastructure.

While based in the Valencian Community, the Arrels Chair is designed with a national and international scope to address climate challenges across Spain, Europe, and Latin America. The project will utilize university faculty and infrastructure alongside technical coordination from the Innpulso Network and will include an International Advisory Council to provide external perspectives.
