Ars Electronica Festival explores humanity and AI in Linz
The Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria, has launched with the theme ‘Future Begins. Negotiating Humanity’, focusing on how artificial intelligence affects art, society, and the definition of being human. The event features hundreds of exhibitions, concerts, performances, and workshops across more than 40 locations, including the Ars Electronica Center and various universities.
Key highlights include musical performances exploring AI-generated voices and exhibitions of the Prix Ars Electronica winners at the Lentos Art Museum. The festival addresses critical issues such as responsibility, democracy, and the social consequences of autonomous technology.
In conjunction with the festival, Canon and the Academy of Austrian Film have established ‘Filmstadt’ at the Med Campus. This participatory film studio allows visitors to engage with professional Cinema-EOS technology, offering insights into various production roles including directing, cinematography, sound, and post-production.
