Arsenal and Newcastle target key players in Premier League summer transfer window

Arsenal are preparing a bid for England centre‑back Ezri Konsa as the defender approaches the end of his contract with Aston Villa. Konsa, who has not yet agreed a new deal, remains a top earner at Villa, a club constrained by UEFA spending restrictions that require any new signings to be offset by player sales.

Newcastle United are also active, holding talks with Brighton goalkeeper Carl Rushworth and maintaining interest in Manchester City keeper James Trafford. The club aims to secure a new number one goalkeeper while having already signed France prospect Ewen Jaouen for £20 million and retaining Nick Pope as their current first‑choice.

Both clubs are navigating a busy transfer window, weighing multiple targets and recent acquisitions as they look to strengthen their squads for the upcoming season.
