Arsenal eye former defender Konstantinos Mavropanos as summer transfer target

Arsenal are reportedly preparing a bid to bring back Greek centre‑back Konstantinos Mavropanos from West Ham United this summer. West Ham, newly relegated to the Championship, are looking to cut costs and have indicated a willingness to sell the player, who is under contract until June 2028. Sky Sports suggests a transfer fee could be around €30 million.

Mavropanos, 28, previously played for Arsenal between 2018 and 2022 and earned 42 caps for Greece. The Gunners already have several right‑footed centre‑backs – William Saliba, Cristhian Mosquera and Ben White – but see him as valuable competition for the core partnership of Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães. Other clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Newcastle United, are also monitoring his situation.

Arsenal’s broader summer plan includes targeting a winger, with Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers identified as a top priority, and strengthening central midfield through a potential signing of Bruno Guimarães.
