Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta signs new long‑term contract

Arsenal confirmed that manager Mikel Arteta will sign a new long‑term contract following his role in securing the club’s first Premier League title in 22 years. The deal is expected to be finalised quickly so the club can focus on the upcoming summer transfer window, where spending of up to £300 million on new players has been mentioned.

After Arsenal’s loss to Paris Saint‑Germain in the Champions League quarter‑final, Arteta said referee Anthony Taylor could have awarded a penalty in the 103rd minute and noted the defeat does not alter his confidence in the squad. He praised PSG’s performance while stressing the team must learn from the setback and continue improving.
