Arsenal targeting Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae
Arsenal is reportedly considering a move for Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae during the upcoming January transfer window. The interest follows an injury to Piero Hincapié, which has prompted manager Mikel Arteta to seek defensive reinforcements.
German journalist Christian Falk has confirmed that the 29-year-old South Korean international is officially on Arsenal’s transfer list. The recommendation reportedly comes from Arsenal’s chief scout, Maurizio Micheli, who previously worked with Kim during his successful tenure at Napoli.
While Kim has been a key part of Bayern Munich's recent successes, he currently faces significant competition for starting positions from players such as Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah. Although Kim is under contract with the Bundesliga club until 2028, reports suggest Bayern may consider a sale if a suitable offer is presented.
Other Premier League clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa, have also been linked to the defender. Arsenal's pursuit is viewed as a pragmatic measure to bolster their squad depth following injuries to key defensive assets.
