Kim Min-jae transfer speculation

Overview

Reports indicate that FC Bayern Munich is considering the departure of South Korean defender Kim Min-jae, potentially during the upcoming summer transfer window. While Kim has remained at the club despite previous summer rumors, his future may depend on his playing time and sporting role.

Under manager Vincent Kompany, the 29-year-old international has reportedly seen a decline in his standing within the squad hierarchy, falling behind Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah. While Kim remains under contract until 2028 and is reportedly content to fight for his place, Bayern Munich may be open to a sale if they secure a replacement.

Interested parties monitoring the situation include Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, AC Milan, and Juventus. Arsenal has emerged as a significant contender, reportedly seeking emergency reinforcements following injuries to defensive assets.

German journalist Christian Falk has confirmed that Kim is “officially on Arsenal’s transfer list.” This recommendation reportedly stems from Arsenal’s chief scout, Maurizio Micheli, who previously worked with Kim during his tenure at Napoli. While a summer move remains a possibility with a suggested fee in the region of £30 million, Arsenal’s interest is viewed as a pragmatic measure to bolster squad depth during the January transfer window.
