Arsenal FC to cut 60 jobs following operational review

Arsenal Football Club has announced plans to cut up to 60 jobs, representing approximately seven per cent of its 871 permanent staff. The redundancies follow an operational review conducted with the assistance of the Boston Consulting Group.

The job cuts are expected to impact various non-sporting departments, including areas such as marketing, commercial, travel, catering, and analysis. However, the club confirmed that coaching and performance staff for both the men’s and women’s teams will not be affected. Positions within the Arsenal Foundation, the Arsenal in the Community program, and the club’s security department are also excluded from the cuts.

The announcement comes shortly after manager Mikel Arteta signed a new four-year contract, which reportedly includes a significant salary increase. While the club reported record revenues of £691 million for the 2024/25 financial year, it also recorded an overall loss of £1.4 million and saw operating costs rise to over £200 million. Arteta stated that the restructuring is intended to help the club “evolve, to improve” and to ensure it can achieve long-term success.
