Arson fires target vehicles in Savignano and Licata, Italy

On the evening of 5 July, a fire broke out inside an auto‑demolition yard in Savignano sul Rubicone (province of Forlì‑Cesena). The blaze ignited several cars and required a large response from the fire brigades of Savignano, Cesena, Rimini and the provincial command. The flames were contained without any injuries and Carabinieri investigators began gathering evidence at the scene.

In Licata, Sicily, a Ford Galaxy belonging to a 60‑year‑old pensioner was deliberately set alight during the night. Firefighters extinguished the vehicle before the fire could spread to nearby property. Police found remnants of an accelerant container and evidence of a masked individual, leading the Carabinieri to open a case for arson and to examine local CCTV footage for clues.
