Art exhibitions held in Bucharest and Piatra Neamț
Two distinct art exhibitions are currently being held in Romania.
In Bucharest, Ciprian Ariciu is presenting ‘Matriarhatul Pământului – Zeițele’ (Matriarchy of the Earth – Goddesses) at the Galateea Contemporary Art gallery. The exhibition, which runs until October 15, 2026, features ceramic works exploring themes of memory, femininity, and protection. Curated by Dr. Adela Bonaț and supported by the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC) and UAP Romania, the project uses archetypal feminine forms and local earth to create a ritualistic experience centered around a symbolic blue chair from the artist's childhood.
In Piatra Neamț, artist Viorica Ciucanu is hosting ‘Cele cinci elemente’ (The Five Elements) at the Lascăr Vorel Art Galleries from October 1 to October 14. This exhibition of painting and installation explores the relationship between the four classical elements—water, air, earth, and fire—and the human spirit, represented by the circle. The work incorporates mathematical and aesthetic concepts such as the golden ratio (phi) to connect the micro and macro-cosmos.
