Art and pottery exhibitions in Moldova and Romania

Cultural exhibitions focusing on ceramics and traditional arts have been launched in Moldova and Romania.

In Moldova, the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History opened the fourth National Exhibition of Folk Masters, titled ‘Living Heritage: Potters and Ceramists at the Altar of Tradition’. The event showcases 22 artists using techniques ranging from traditional clay bells to modern crystal-infused ceramics. Simultaneously, the Ethnographic Museum of Brașov in Romania opened an exhibition detailing pottery centers in southern and central Transylvania from the 17th to the 19th centuries, highlighting the influence of various ethnic groups on ceramic styles.

Further contemporary art displays are occurring in Romania. In Bucharest, the Galateea Contemporary Art gallery is hosting ‘Matriarhatul Pământului – Zeițele’ (Matriarchy of the Earth – Goddesses), featuring ceramic works by Ciprian Ariciu that explore themes of femininity and memory. In Piatra Neamț, Viorica Ciucanu is presenting ‘Cele cinci elemente’ (The Five Elements) at the Lascăr Vorel Art Galleries, an exhibition of painting and installation exploring the relationship between the classical elements and the human spirit.
