August 2026 French regional art exhibitions and cultural events
A series of cultural programmes are taking place across France in August 2026. In the southern town of Vias, the tourism office will host a Mystery Game and a night‑time storytelling walk on 6 August, with tickets ranging from €4 to €12 and mandatory online reservation. The Côte‑d’Or region offers a weekend guide (7‑9 August) that includes concerts on the Lac Kir shore in Dijon, a “Nuit des Étoiles” meteor‑shower viewing at the Hautes Plates observatory, light‑show projections in Beaune and family‑friendly activities at the MuséoParc Alésia.
Local art exhibitions are also scheduled. Saint‑Raphaël will display works by amateur artists until 9 August, while the Commanderie du Larzac runs daily guided tours, children’s workshops and evening markets throughout August, ending with a village fête on 23‑24 August. The Club Léo Lagrange Ampusian presents paintings and crafts from 14‑16 August, and the FRAC Sud’s “Odyssée contemporaine” will travel across four Luberon sites (Manosque, Ongles, Saint‑Maime, Vachères) until 20 September, pairing contemporary works with historic venues. Additional exhibitions include the “Le ping et le pong” show at the Logis de Tessé (until 31 August) and the Les Arts en Gascogne showcase in Mirande (4‑9 August).
Other cultural highlights include the 5th edition of the Saint‑Alban night market on 7 August, featuring local artisans and Breton music, and the national Journées Européennes du Patrimoine on 19‑20 September, offering free museum tours and conservation workshops. In Belgium, the Université Libre de Bruxelles will host a series of musicology seminars and concerts from August through December 2026.
