Artemis 2 astronauts thank European engineers during visit to Bremen

During a visit to Airbus’ facility in Bremen, the four‑person crew of NASA’s Artemis 2 lunar mission expressed gratitude to the European engineers whose work made the flight possible. U.S. astronaut Victor Glover said the team had “entrusted their lives” to the engineers, while Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen added that the mission’s safe return showed the value of the European contribution.

The crew highlighted the European Service Module, built in Bremen, which provides oxygen, water, power and propulsion for Orion. The crew’s members – Glover, Hansen, Reid Wiseman and Christina Koch – completed the first crewed lunar orbit since 1972, circling the Moon and travelling farther from Earth than any human before them.
