Gül Tut murder case: daughter faces aggravated life sentence

On 26 September 2025, artist Gül Tut (known as "Güllü") died after falling from a window in her Çınarcık home, Yalova, Turkey. A ten‑month investigation by the Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office concluded that her 22‑year‑old daughter, Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, deliberately caused the fall. The indictment alleges that Gülter played a song titled “Malkata” to lure her mother into the room, then seized her mother’s hips, lifted her feet and pushed her out of the window, resulting in fatal head and internal injuries.

Forensic analysis by the Istanbul Technical University confirmed the presence of a cheerful “Hadi görüşürüz” remark just before the fall and ruled out poisoning. The autopsy reported severe trauma from a high‑rise fall, with multiple bone fractures and internal bleeding. Digital evidence, including WhatsApp chats, phone records and security‑camera audio, was also submitted.

The prosecution seeks an aggravated life‑imprisonment sentence for Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter on the charge of “designing murder of a close relative.” A second suspect, Sultan Nur Ulu, who was present in the house, faces a separate charge of false testimony and a potential four‑year prison term.
