Aruba announces vacation rental registration and marine protection consultation

The government of Aruba has announced a new registration process for short-term vacation rentals. The registration window opens on November 1, 2026, with a deadline of January 31, 2027. This phase is intended for owners seeking consideration under a temporary non-enforcement framework. The registry includes various accommodations such as villas, apartments, and guesthouses, and requires each unit to be registered individually to receive a unique identification number.

In environmental news, the Aruba government, through the Directorate of Nature and Environment, is conducting a public consultation regarding the Aruba 30x30 initiative. In collaboration with the Aruba Conservation Foundation and the Blue Marine Foundation, the government is inviting the community to review and provide feedback on four proposed scenarios for offshore marine protection. The online consultation period is open from October 28 through November 27, 2026.
