Aruba schools celebrate new facilities and successful educational programs

Educational initiatives in Aruba have reached significant milestones. Colegio Santa Filomena in San Nicolas inaugurated a new playground for the 2026-2027 school year, a project supported by Wings of Hope and ABO Projects to promote physical activity and social interaction among students.

Simultaneously, the “Choices Matter, so do you?” school project successfully completed its first full year. A collaboration between the University of Aruba, the Openbaar Ministerie Aruba, and the Dutch organization Diversion, the program reached nine secondary schools. Through 192 interactive workshops, the initiative engaged students in discussions regarding justice, safety, responsibility, and social media. The project utilized peer educators from the University of Aruba to facilitate dialogue, including sessions where students could interact directly with officers of justice.
