Aruba strengthens crisis preparedness through Dutch cooperation
The Government of Aruba is strengthening its crisis preparedness and response capabilities through cooperation with professionals and partners from the Netherlands. Following a request for support during a period of regional tension, a delegation led by John van der Zwan collaborated with local professionals to formulate recommendations for improving coordination and reaction capacity during unexpected scenarios.
Prime Minister Mike Eman emphasized the importance of continuous training and cooperation to ensure the country remains prepared. The government intends to implement the recommendations resulting from this collaborative process to maintain Aruba's reputation for readiness within the Kingdom and the region.
In a separate domestic initiative, the government is promoting the second edition of 'Dia Nacional pa Cuida Aruba' (National Day to Care for Aruba). This campaign aims to foster a sense of shared responsibility among citizens to maintain a clean and pleasant environment. The initiative involves cooperation between the public sector, private companies like WEB Aruba NV, and various community organizations to manage waste and improve local neighborhoods.
