Arunachal Pradesh flash flood kills two, three still missing

Continuous heavy rain caused a flash flood in the Kei Panyor district of Arunachal Pradesh on June 27. Rescue teams recovered the body of a 30‑year‑old woman and confirmed two deaths. Three people – 13‑year‑old Alesh Marak, 46‑year‑old Tao Anjina and 48‑year‑old Saurav Kumar – remain missing as the search entered its fourth day.

State disaster response forces, police and the National Disaster Response Force are conducting ongoing operations despite landslides and debris that keep the Potin‑Kimin highway closed. More than 20 people have been injured, three in critical condition, and are receiving treatment in government hospitals. The Indian Air Force delivered relief supplies and rescue equipment on June 25, and both the state governor and the Union minister for parliamentary and minority affairs have expressed condolences and urged heightened vigilance during the monsoon season.
