Arunachal Pradesh Governor Calls for Youth Cultural Preservation and Women Empowerment

Governor Lt Gen K. T. Parnaik (Retd) addressed youth at the Yuva Sangam programme, urging them to preserve traditional values, indigenous knowledge, languages and cultural practices while supporting environmental protection and sustainable living. He highlighted the importance of education, discipline and national unity, encouraged interaction with students from Uttar Pradesh, and noted Arunachal Pradesh’s potential in hydropower, horticulture, tourism and organic farming.

In a separate meeting with the National Commission for Women, the governor stressed the vital role of women in the state’s socio‑economic and cultural development. He praised women’s participation in agriculture, entrepreneurship, governance, anti‑drug campaigns, cleanliness drives, health awareness and the preservation of handloom and textile traditions, and lauded self‑help groups for improving livelihoods. Parnaik also highlighted the upcoming "Jan Sunvai – Rashtriya Mahila Aayog Aapke Dwaar" programme organised by the NCW and the state women’s commission.
