Arunachal Pradesh MLA Nyabi Jini Dirchi inspects flash‑flood‑hit villages in Leparada

On July 10, MLA Nyabi Jini Dirchi visited the Dari circle of Leparada district in Arunachal Pradesh to assess damage from the June 28 cloudburst that caused severe flash floods. She surveyed villages including Padi, Chisi, Dali, Ego Camp, Old and New Dari, Zirdo, Jime and Ichi, noting extensive damage to homes, roads, public infrastructure, agricultural and horticultural lands, and livelihoods.

Dirchi, accompanied by local officials and senior officers from the Public Works, Power, Public Health Engineering, Water Resources, Rural Works, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries and Veterinary departments, directed a comprehensive damage assessment to facilitate timely relief, rehabilitation and restoration proposals. She emphasized restoring road connectivity as a priority, noting that the newly completed 10‑km PMGSY road linking Dali to Ichi was about 90 % washed away, leaving Ichi isolated. To enable repair crews, electricity and safe drinking water, Dirchi pledged a personal contribution of ₹10 lakh for temporary road restoration. She also provided out‑of‑pocket financial aid and relief materials to the worst‑affected households, assuring continued state and central government support.
