AS Monaco seeks contract extension for Paris Brunner
AS Monaco has entered negotiations to extend the contract of 20-year-old German striker Paris Brunner. After a quiet initial period with the club, Brunner has seen a significant rise in form, scoring six goals in seven matches across all competitions.
His recent performances have drawn attention from his former club, Borussia Dortmund. While Brunner is currently under contract with Monaco until June 2028, Dortmund reportedly holds a specific mechanism that would allow them to match an offer made by another club. Dortmund's Sporting Director, Lars Ricken, has acknowledged the player's progress, stating that “the doors are not closed for Paris.”
Brunner, a former U17 World Cup winner, joined Monaco in 2024 for approximately 4 million euros following a failure to reach a professional contract agreement with Dortmund. Monaco aims to secure his future early to capitalize on his recent breakout season and avoid potential transfer complications next summer.
