AS Roma appoints Tony D'Amico as new sporting director, targets Pellegrini renewal

Tony D'Amico was announced on Friday as the new sporting director of AS Roma. Although he will officially assume the role on 1 July, he has already begun working on the club’s most pressing issues.

His immediate priorities include reopening talks on striker Pellegrini’s contract, which is set to expire in about two weeks and is expected to be renegotiated from the reported €6.5 million net salary plus bonuses. D'Amico is also focused on finalising Roma’s Settlement Agreement with UEFA this year and shaping the summer transfer strategy, with several players slated for loan or sale and interest from clubs such as Borussia Dortmund and Fenerbahçe.
